Why always carry dice

I remember reading somewhere online that the actor Wil Wheaton always carries dice in his pocket because one never knows when it will come in handy. I thought about this when we boarded the train in Zürich to go to Munich for our last stop of our trip. We had paid a little extra to reserve family seating. I thought this would mean we would sit together in the same compartment. Apparently family seating also came with board games printed on the tables.



We happened to have Myles' math dice in my purse, so we used the dodecahedral die to make our moves instead of the more complicated die-less system in the game instructions printed on the table. We happily played two rounds until Brigid won and no longer needed to play.

It's true; you never know when the need for dice might arise.
