All we like sheep
At first I thought that the pink fuzzy thing in the clear plastic bag was just another cute plush animal. We were shopping for some Christmas presents when the woman who ran the shop gave this to Brigid as a gift. I should have known that at Beijing's Christian Sacred Art, even the kids' toys would have a Catholic theme.
This small backpack in the shape of a lamb with a label that says in Chinese "我是天主的小羊" and in English "I am the little sheep of the Lord." It's an interesting contrast to the book bag Brigid usually carries, one bearing the likeness of a much more famous (in China, that is) lamb, 喜羊羊.
I had no idea such things for Catholic kids existed in China. Had I realized what this was, I probably would have bought several for all the other "little lambs" in our lives.
