Another Great Wall Sunday
Where on earth is she headed all on her own?
长城, she'd tell me. Great Wall. Of course.
Sunday afternoon was a perfect day for an early spring Great Wall exploration. As the trees were still only just budding, it's still easy to make out features of the Wall that will be in a few weeks concealed by flowering trees.

One specific Great Wall location that Randy has been wanting to see is the Beijing Knot. We understand the hike at the actual Knot to be quite challenging, so we knew we would probably have to be contented with seeing it from a distance.
Once we got to an easily accessible tower....
we could make out one, two, three stretches of Wall joining together on the ridge. The Beijing Knot!
This view, just below the Knot, I like because it feels as though the Wall construction was a completely scattered affair.
Another fun part of seeking out so-called Wild Wall is that you can be walking along a path and suddenly realize that you are actually on the Wall.
Yes, Mr. Frost. Something there is that does not love a wall, but something allows this Wall to stand quite a bit longer, beyond its own tending time.
