Things the kids teach me, over and over again

Coming off of the two-plus weeks of illnesses and a series of busy days when we have not been home much, I was dreading Tuesday and all the work I would have to do get even part-way caught up around here.

Brigid was, of course, anxious to help, as only a three-year-old can be. She had her own bucket and sponge, and took her place on the floor next to me. As we scrubbed, she sighed happily, "Aren't we lucky we have all these floors to clean? Aren't we Mommy?"

Until that moment, I was not feeling particularly lucky. Heating season has not yet ended, so we/I am still battling the ash and soot that still manages to evade capture by our five air cleaners and land on everything. As much as I try to remain grateful for being warm....well, you get the point.

I met her smile and had to agree. With her next to me, we are very lucky to have all these floors to clean.

Oh I love this. She is so adorable. Wonderful how they can remind us of gratitude. Oh and Brigid looks so much like her big brother in this photo.

Thank you. It's funny to me how much they can go from looking identical to looking nothing like each other from day-to-day.
