Keeping Daddy warm

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Myles was excited to buy his dad the perfect present. He had already decided on fingerless gloves. Too often, in his mind, Randy would come home from work and mention how cold his hands were working on the computer in his unheated office. He would wear gloves, but he had to take them off to type. Myles could not wait to go shopping in the US for gloves that would keep Daddy's hands warm and allow him to get work done.

Today (yes, Sunday) was Randy's first day back to work since returning from the month in the US. He happily wore one of his new pair of gloves. The idea was so popular for Christmas that my brother-in-law also gave Randy a similar gift.

When Randy came home at lunch he raved, and not just for Myles' benefit, about how much warmer he was today than ever before.

Truly a sign we have been here such a long time is that Myles never thought it odd that his father would need a special pair of winter gloves to wear to work in an office.
