Heat Watch: wussing out

I was really trying to hold out as long as I could. I was not going to turn on a single space heater.

I caved.

This one is in the home office, and there is another larger forced air heater in the bedroom. I was tired of being cold all the time. And I needed to bathe my kids. Having heat in the bedroom helps with that.

In the meantime, we wait some more.

Hardly a wuss. You are a much stronger woman than I with this - believe me. I would have those things running non-stop. I hate being cold. What you are going through with this heat situation is just absurd. Of course you need heat to bathe the kids! Geeze...ridonculous.

It's hard when I can look out the window and know that my comfort is taking priority over air quality. Plugging more stuff in just creates more need for electricity which causes this country to burn more coal. My toes are warmer, but my husband can't breathe.

I was never so sensitive to this issue as we have been since we moved to Beijing. It's like when we had a septic tank in Kentucky. I was really conscientiousness about cleaning products because they would eventually end up in the yard!

Brrr. I turn on the space heater to take my own shower these days. But I also do understand the air quality dilemma. I never had asthma till I moved to a town with a coal burning power plant.
