Fancy Brigid
Several months ago, we hosted my friend RheaAnn and her husband Bill. One of the presents they brought for Brigid was a Fancy Nancy book. We were uninitiated in the world of Fancy Nancy, so it was a welcomed introduction to this adorable character.
This summer in the US, we certainly got a lot of Fancy Nancy. First, my aunt bought Brigid the original Fancy Nancy. This was soon followed by a Fancy Nancy Tutu.

A few weeks later we received a surprise package from Harper Collins. My friend Jen was at one of their facilities on business and mentioned that she knew a little girl who loved Fancy Nancy. They then sent us four new books!

If I were to describe this summer for Brigid, I would have to call it Fancy. She and so many of her cousins and nieces surrounding her this summer love the idea of dressing up almost daily. Every day is a special enough for favorite hair bows and fairy dresses.

This summer one of my early goals was to read Mara Hvistendahl's book Unnatural Selection, but any time I picked it up, I was happily distracted by all the girlie girlness around us. I couldn't possibly concentrate on such a serious and depressing book with all the abundant cuteness around.
