Reunion
It's a stop he specifically asks we make when we are home. We would anyway, but he wants to make sure we remember. He wants to bring flowers, and garden tools to clean it up. He's afraid that since the stone is flush to the ground, the grass will cover her name and she will be forgotten.
I want to tell him that no matter what, we won't forget. I think it would be not much assurance to him, though. At seven and a half, he is aware of memories from his own history that he's lost while others he seemingly inexplicably keeps. So we revisit these events, the blissful period before it ended in sadness, at his request. I'm amazed he doesn't want to run away from it.
