阿来路亚!!!!
When we got to the church tonight, about twenty minutes before the scheduled start to Mass, Myles could barely contain himself. He was, of course, excited for Easter. For bells ringing, for a return of the Alleluia, and, no doubt, for fire. The seminarians were amused at how crazy he was, waiting for them to light the fire.

I have to admit it is thrilling to be in darkness and the only light coming from the first fire, and then from the Easter Candle...

and then as the light is passed candle-to-candle...

until the entire sanctuary glows.

It was a long but an incredible Vigil after that. At the same time I am exhilarated and exhausted. I want to blog, to get everything recorded so I don't forget a single detail (the bell tower bells, the Alleluia, the Baptisms, the preface chanted in Latin---so much more). Spirit willing, etc.
复活节快乐!!! Happy Easter!!!
