This sounds familiar
This week Myles decided he wants to try to read the Harry Potter books on his own. So far he has read few chapter books, and none of them as long as the Philospher's Stone. We thought we'd let him have a go at it. Today whenever he had a few free moments he had his nose buried in the book.
Occasionally he looks up for help with a word he isn't quite sure about, and sometimes I ask him something to show me he is understanding the story. So far, so good.
This afternoon Brigid came to me with a stack of books. She handed me one, saying, "Ead dis, Mommy. Ead dis. Dis Harry Potter!"
I looked down and it was a board book of Bible stories.
I think we've been here before.
