Prayer Leader
We've recently added a noon-time Angelus to our regular daily schedule. I've been trying to find some more ways to get us into daily prayer habit together, and the Angelus seemed like a good fit. It is relatively short, and it allows for responsorial praying, both great for getting Myles interested in prayer.
Myles has taken on the role of prayer leader for our daily Angelus. After we finished today, he told me how much he relishes being our leader. I would have swelled with pride, except I had a suspicion that the answer to my "Why is that?" would not necessarily be the pious answer I sought.
"Because I really like the word 'flesh'" he told me. "'I like how it's written, and I like how it's said. Flesh. Flesh. F-le-shhhhhh."
