Shanghai Expo: Pudong Side, The Netherlands

I really have no idea how to introduce, how to describe,or how to convey the general feeling of The Netherlands Pavilion.  The Dutch clearly march to their own beat.

The Pavilion is huge, with the English words "Happy Street" illuminated high above.IMG_0624
The wait to enter is short because this Pavilion is designed to allow a constant flow of people.

Inside is such an insanely well-lit, eclectic assortment of all things Dutch.  I'd call it Gilliam-esque, but he's not Dutch.

A sampling:

Several contemporary artists' spin on the Chinese-influenced Dutch fine China.

And then there were the sheep, under the pavilion, that anyone could move around and sit on if they needed to rest.

As long as this post is, I still didn't include the advances in fireproofed textiles for firefighters, the working street organ, a small tribute to Vincent VanGogh, an excellent water purification system for converting contaminated surface water to drinking water, and still more!
