Shanghai Expo: The lines!
The lines at the Shanghai Expo are notorious. Some of them cannot be helped, like those at GM SAIC, a pavilion that must limit entrance based on the seating capacity of the theater. But others.....well, who know what the reasons may be. Adam has a post today about theories behind the lines, but I must caution you that post contains a few f-bombs, quasi-bleeped, from an email Adam received on the subject.
Since we only went on weekdays, we never saw lines build to the point of filling these, the cow pens between ticketing and security. Seriously; these looked like something you'd see at a slaughterhouse.

Outside of the Expo, vendors are selling little plastic stools that fold up and are easy to carry. These are similar to ones I've seen sold in train stations in particular. On the train, they are great in case you end up with a standing ticket, as we did for half of our train ride back from Jinzhou last October. The kids each had one and sat on them in the dining car. Anyway, we did not actually buy any this time, but a college student in line behind us at Oil lent hers to our kids, and Brigid took it over from her brother. In fact, she became quite fixated on the routine of sitting, getting up, folding up the stool, carrying it to the next stop in line, and opening it up again.
