This is Changping

I took this picture right before we left for our trip to the US.  The cigarette counter at the children's clothing and toy store.

 If Beijing City really continues to expand the reach of its non-smoking policies, I have a fear that Changping as well as the other rural districts and counties would be expempt. I know that thrity years ago in the US we talked about how difficult it would be to change the public's mind about the acceptability of smoking, and yet, here we are in 2010 when there are so few public places where smoking is permitted. I think, though, that China starts from a different place with respect to social acceptance of smoking.
