Back in Beijing
We got back to the apartment at around 6 pm last night and spent the next 12 hours in a chaotic haze. We were alarmed at how dirty the apartment was when we arrived, but not alarmed enough to do much about it when we arrived. Randy was especially disappointed because he had cleaned the floors right before he left four weeks ago.
The rest of the time has been spent in a chaotic haze of napping and snacking, since snack foods are all we have around right now. Midnight, though, is not the best time to discover you are out of juice and drinking water, or just about any real food at all when you live where these things cannot be bought at that time of night. Today we'll try to find our way to the grocery store. While I would prefer to head over to one of the import grocery stores, near a Starbucks, the hour-long drive is not something Randy will overlook so it looks like fighting the masses at WalMart will be, once again, the not so gentle reminder that we are indeed back in China.

Solution right now is to bring some toys in my just-cleaned bedroom and shut the door. Myles watches a dvd on my computer and Brigid plays on the floor. If I doze off, they are relaltively safe.
