Getting ready for Christmas
We're packing like crazy! Tomorrow we leave for five weeks (yup, count them--FIVE WEEKS!) in the US. It sounds like a lot of time right now, but once we get there it will be too short and pass too quickly.
We aren't the only ones in mad preparations for Christmas.
Our parish church in Beijing is also getting ready for the big celebrations. Mass on Christmas Eve will be celebrated at 6:30 pm, followed by the Christmas party, followed by the late Mass which is scheduled for 11:30 pm. Already on Sunday some of the lights were strung as well as some yet-bare Christmas trees in the front.
Last year we stayed in China for Christmas for the first time ever. We had never experienced a Mass quite like that one. Many non-Christians in China go to watch the Christmas Eve services at Christian churches. Rather than try to explain it again, here's my post from last year.
There will be no time to blog between now and whenever-after-Christmas, so have a very blessed Christmas season! Glory to God in the Highest!
