I promised a test this year. What are the Mandarin names for Halloween, All Saints' Day, and All Souls' Day? Come on, you've had a year (or two, in fact) to study.
We celebrated Halloween again this year, American style. One of the other homeschool co-op families graciously hosted a party in their flat and the kids were able to go trick-or-treating in their apartment complex. A great time was had by all.
Myles for several weeks has been wanting to go as a pirate. Everywhere we've been lately we picked up another piece for his costume. The hat. The sash. the sword. Et cetera.
What I lacked in creativity of dress for Brigid I made up for in theme. She and I were both Any Given Sunday. I don't have a picture of myself, but you won't have to scratch your head too long to guess what I was wearing. One of her brother's many, many Number 7 jerseys fit perfectly over her winter-weight clothes. In our family, it seems that to assure a perfect fit over a snowsuit, take a jersey from a child who is five years older.
