It's that time of year again

As we are well into a Beijing October, I present to you the stay-puffed marshmallow baby.

Today a woman who sees us regularly around town here came up to us and told me she was really happy to see the baby in warm clothes. Brigid is not enjoying that stuffed, immobile feeling, but I am enjoying not being lectured about how poorly I have dressed her, as was often the case last year when I had mostly American-style winter clothes for her. Of course, the real winter days are still a few months away. Let's see how well I am doing in January.

OMG she has got so big since I last saw her. That makes me sad. She won't need me to rock her to sleep anymore when you guys come home for Christmas.

What's funny is that all of my Chinese students are complaining about how hot it is in the school (it's not).

Denis- It's quite possible their schools in China did not have heat (like none of the public schools in Shanghai for instance, or Shenzhen for that matter, or Beijing until November 15 for that matter) and they are dressed expecting indoors to be kept cold. Convince them to lose a layer or two, like the long underwear.
