Now back to our regularly scheduled life

We've made it back to Beijing and we are happily not in quarentine.

Our original itenary had us flying from Pittsburgh to Chicago to Beijing, with a little breathing room in the layover. After we checked in at Pittsburgh AND went through security, though, United changed everything on us. Suddenly I was going to spend the morning in "mad-dash" mode. Our flight to Chicago delayed, we were re-routed to Dulles (on to a flight that had already made its final boarding call) with a ridiculously tight connection to the Beijing flight (we got off one plane in time to hear the other's final boarding call from a different terminal). We ran a lot Saturday morning.

But here we are, back in Beijing. The kids and I are out of whack, sleeping wherever we drop and waking at 4 am, ready to party. It is going to be a long week to adjust back to Beijing time.

I'm glad you're back safely. Be kind and gentle to yourself as you readjust. Hope the kids adjust well and fast!
Prayers for a smooth transition are heading your way.
