Dude! I made crepes!

Randy brought me back two jars of Nutella from Germany. I was very grateful, but I told him that we can get it in Beijing. He asked me then why he had not seen a jar of it since we moved here (we had it once in a while in Shenzhen). He thought I was only joking when I told him that after Brigid's 2 am feedings I find myself stumbling into the kitchen eating Nutella straight from the jar.

So with our booty of Nutella, I thought it might be fun to make Nutella-banana crepes. I've always wanted to make crepes, but I always suspected that like any other food with a French name (brioche, souffle), crepes would require too much of a foodie touch, something I don't have.
Basically, crepes are easier than I thought as long as I kept my expectations low. It really is all in the wrist. I will not be opening a creperie anytime soon, but I think I wouldn't be afraid to serve them to guests, even with only one try under my culinary belt. As long as I serve them already filled and rolled up, no one will ever notice the squid edges. Of course, once something is smothered in Nutella and home-made whipped cream, no one will care.

By the way, the funniest thing I've read today is on a jar of Nutella, "Consume within one year of opening."

Nutella and banana crepes are our favorite, but I have never made them myself. Now I'm inspired. If you can do it... (Just kidding!)

No, really. That's why I posted it. If I can do it, anyone can!

I had a Nutella and banana crepe in France. It was the taste of Heaven (or almost, anyway).

We keep it on the shelf now that we know Costco sells it in double-jar packs.

BTW, Wendy, I thought you'd be amused by the tentacles. I assume that Raj does make crepes, perfectly round crepes, the likes of which can easily be described as x^2 + y^2 = r^2

My boys would like the ones with tentacles better.
