Steelers Super Bowl send-off
My sister Kate sent me an email today that the pre-Super Bowl pep rally is being held today at Heinz Field. Both of us are, of course, sad that we aren't able to do it together again.
The last time we found ourselves at a pep rally for Super Bowl bound Steelers, we were in the company of two extremely excited little boys

and a guy I casually mentioned as my sister's friend John.
If we were to measure our lives as the times between Steelers Super Bowls, which is completely reasonable, it's amazing for us to look around and see where we've come since Super Bowl XL. Certainly, some of my sisters and I have been growing the Steelers Nation one Ambrose grandchild at a time (and one sister making her contribution to the fandom of whatever lame-o AFC East team she happens to like these days ha ha ha). It is really hard not to note that the "friend John" went on to become known as "Parenthetical John" to just "John my brother-in-law" and that now sometime in these days leading up to Super Bowl XLIII he and Kate will be welcoming their own player to be named later.

All I ask is that I get to watch the Super Bowl at my house, not at the hospital.
We'll see how cooperative this little Steeler fan is...
