So just when I jump on the Facebook bandwagon, I read that Rod Dreher has a friend that calls it Whogotfat.com (really?) and the Pope has words of warning about Facebook. While I hope to take these words to heart

If the desire for virtual connectedness becomes obsessive, it may in fact function to isolate individuals from real social interaction while also disrupting the patterns of rest, silence and reflection that are necessary for healthy human development

I know Pope Benedict isn't trying to keep in touch with his 20 first cousins on another continent.
