Speaking of Mad Men

There have been several American TV shows we've watched on DVD in the past year that Randy initially resisted, but eventually I was able to convince him were great entertainment. The thought of a show about High School Football in Texas didn't excite him, but he, too, could not stop watching that first season of Friday Night Lights. He didn't even think that 30 Rock would be worth watching, and I don't know if he has laughed that hard at any TV show made after 1980. Heck, I even got him to come around on Project Runway. He enjoyed the creative process part of the show. However one recent show that I adore that he has dismissed is Mad Men. Even the last episode, with the Kodak Carousel scene, which is one of the best things I've seen on TV in a long time, didn't grab him at all. He was grateful I was done watching them until the second season is available on DVD here in China. He asked me if the characters did anything else other than sleep around and drink. But what about that scene with Kodak, I asked him back. To this he shrugged.

From what I read online and in Entertainment Weekly, a lot of Americans are really hooked on Mad Men, too. I can't wait to get my hands on the second season. To help me with my Mad Men fix in between seasons, a trip to Sephora was in order. They've recently introduced into South China Benefit Cosmetics.

Is it wrong to admit I bought a fragrance based on what I thought Joan Holloway would wear? That I bought a lipstick because it made me think of Belle Jolie? I blame it on Don Draper.
