Must be October

In South China, I don't have the turning leaves or the crispness in the air or the cinnamon apple yummy goodness my American friends and family are enjoying right now to tell me it is October. My sitemeter tells me that people have begun (again) googling "adult" Halloween costumes and ending up on this blog post from THREE YEARS AGO when I lamented that it was impossible to find even a Mother Goose-themed costume for a grown-up that was not slutty. So for people looking for "slutty bumble bee" or "slutty Miss Muffet," again, as I say every year, I am absolutely no help to you.

Aaron, Addy and myself are going to Nashville this weekend to visit for the first time since we have moved from there. I can't wait to see the changing leaves - I miss that so much. Texas goes from green to brown rather quickly sometime in Nov or Dec. Aaron and I are having a come as something you're not Halloween party - Several people told me I should come as an Angel. How sweet!

Well, there, RheaDogg, you could always recycle your Miss Texas costume :-)
I can't believe you've been away from NashVegas that long. I was starting to think you were becoming less Texan and more Nashwegian while you guys were there.

Here in Mississippi we do not enjoy the change of seasons like we do in Iowa, where I am from. It is still hot here and can get up into the 80's if it wants to. I miss the change of seasons and the renewal it brings in the way I think and look at the world . I find that October is just a long month, period. It has many days, and there is a long time to wait until the joys of Thanksgiving. Blessings to you as you continue be faithful in a place far from home.
