What's in a (baby) name?
Of course, we are starting into the name game. We have the additional challenge of finding a Chinese name, too, as we all have them. However, our primary concern is the English name.
Maybe we are and maybe we aren't going to use any name from this super cool Irish name website, but it's fun to hear exactly how some of these hard-core Irish names are really pronounced.
As much as I love names like Aine, I really don't want to curse the poor girl with a lifetime of saying, "No, it's pronounced an-ya. Yeah, I know how it is spelled." Good thing we have a couple more months of working on this.

I blame centuries of literacy.
Seriously, though, there are reasonably easy English spellings of a lot of the hardcore Irish names. I mean, what's the diff if you spell it Dairin or Daireen? Not a lot.
