All Angels all the Time

Thanks to the Family Formation catechesis program, Myles is obsessed with angels, this month's theme. We are all angels, all the time. We've prayed a Guardian Angel Litany most nights. We've played Angel Bingo. We've even learned the Chinese word for angel, tian shi. It is a good thing that my Chinese teacher is a Christian, or some of the words we ask her would be really confusing.


The Memorial of Guardian Angels is approaching, and one book we've been reading a bit more often this month is Dav Pilkey's god bless the gargoyles. This is a beautiful book, and while it isn't a Christian book (this is the same guy that gave us Captain Underpants), it is great for reinforcing the idea that everyone has a guardian angel. "each one had an angel, each one was protected/ each one was cherished and loved and respected," he writes. Even in the loneliest and most painful times, an angel is there.
