Just like dad

We went to the Pittsburgh Zoo two days in a row last week. What a great way to spend a couple of not-terribly-hot days.

One thing that we found too adorable were the beavers. The father beaver was hard at work building a dam (first video). The baby beavers were imitating him, sometimes helping him, and sometimes trying to build their own dam. We called it "Beaver Fort." But how cute are these flat-tailed rodents?

Beavers are amazing, even when their dams are a nuisance (or drown crops). They stick together, with the siblings from one litter staying on to take care of younger siblings. Unlike other rodents, they really aren't aggressive (which is good, since they're huge).
