Not avoiding Beijing
We are planning to leave for a one-month trip back to the US in about a week-and-a-half. The timing was best for us with respect to my OB-schedule, our move next week out of this apartment, and avoiding the height of country-wide Olympic hype. Or at least that was our plan.
Randy has business on Friday that is taking him to Beijing. Only a few weeks before the start of the Olympics, the city, from what I've read, seems to be in a high state of last-minute preparations. I can't imagine a more chaotic place on earth that is not in the middle of a civil war. That hasn't stopped Randy, though, from thinking this would be a great opportunity for us all to take this quick trip to Beijing this weekend.
So we are off to Beijing for only a few days. I don't know if I will be blogging or even emailing this weekend. In only three days I don't even think we will come close to seeing all we would like to see, but we'll get to what we can.
