Explanations

I can't really blog about recent events to the west of here, mostly because they have been written about and blogged about so much already, and I don't have much to contribute to those discussions. However, here are two things that helped me get an understanding of some of the things going on: one from Slate (on why--and hat-tip my friend Katie), and one from Adam (on patriotic education in a seminary).
