In case people don't know, he's not using ink- that calligraphy is created with water! I saw this on the Discovery channel a couple of months ago when they did a show about Shanghai. I bet it's even more impressive in real life (although it was plenty impressive in HD too)!
I wish I were brave enough with my Chinese to ask him what he was writing. I did see something he had written that was already almost evaporated, but I recognized one character, fu, meaning blessing.
You can get books for practicing caligraphy where you use water. It lets you re-use each page up to 100 times if not more. Saves on ink and you really remember how to write the character by the time your done... I'm no way near this guy's skill level though.
