First, I missed St. Nicholas day, but I do I have to share this hysterical possibly historical tidbit about St. Nicholas from The Way of the Fathers
Amy is running an Open Thread of the True Confessions variety, appropriately titled "My Domestic Church has a hole in its roof." I don't think any of us would be chastened in our slackerhood by, well, ourselves.
In case anyone does want to get crafty or crazy in the future, Faith and Family ran a story about a parish that did a Jesse Tree Craft swap. Basically the idea that each family would tackle the craft for only one ornament but make it 22 times. Then everyone would come together and distribute them among the participants so everyone got a full set for their Jesse tree. Specific details can be found here, but this can also be a cool way to ease the burden for any major holiday undertaking.
And, for my sisters and my cousin Denis, here's an interesting link concerning that other liturgical season, Sunday's match-up by the numbers.

Like the time I realized that Advent started tomorrow and I didn’t have an Advent calendar yet and the Catholic bookstores were all about to close and the regular bookstores could only be counted on for Bratz Advent Calendars. So Monday of the first week of Advent found me whistling past the Catholic bookstore where I’m known up to the Catholic bookstore where I’m not so known, skulking around the store, not finding what I needed and finally forced to ask, “Uh, do you have any Advent calendars left?” And being pointed to a basket in the corner. “What we have is back there” a basket which is located right next to a stack of pamphlets called, “How to Celebrate Advent” written by, you know - ME.

As for the game, I'm just going to go ahead and congratulate the Steelers for whuppin' the taste out of the Pats. Besides, I'm a closet Steelers fan by now.
