A hint of fall

At the Shanghai Zoo we had this incredible moment when Myles started crunching fallen leaves on the ground. The air was cool, almost cool enough for an American to wear a sweater. It felt so much like fall and then I remembered that it was fall in the Northern Hemisphere, and Shanghai did get what many of us would consider fall-like weather immediately after the typhoon. It was WONDERFUL.

Here's what you might not miss so much. The squirrels are throwing acorns at us from the tree. Typically when we are on our way to the car, the will hurl two or three acorns. They are sure to hit the car, but they haven't hit us yet. I believe these are all just warning shots...
