Modern art overload
I make absolutely no apologies for my love of modern and contemporary art. Not all of it, of course, but I really do enjoy it. Myles does, too.
I have to wonder, though, if we need to take his art appreciation into a more, um, classical direction. We were walking along one day recently in an area where there were some outdoor sculptures. Suddenly, Myles was running towards something, and I could hear the excitement in his voice, like he had just made some sort of connection in his mind.
"Look, Mom! A sculpture of a pile of bricks."
This was a part of this park where it appeared that they were about to do some work digging up and replacing part of the sidewalk. This is also where the story becomes a joke that writes itself, around since Marcel Duchamp called a urinal art.
"No, my love. That actually is a pile of bricks."
