Too often I am amused about some of the similarities between the Chinese Mass and the Mass Anywhere Else that are not meant to be. One complaint a lot of people have in the US is that the Sign of Peace in many parishes is not peaceful and becomes a drawn-out greet-your-neighbor social event.
At the Chinese Mass this morning in Nantou, as every week, the priest and the choir director started loudly right into the Agnus Dei while many in the congregation were too busy to notice, continuing to wish each other across aisles and across the room, "Ping An."
Universal Church, I tell you.
