Smells like.....

There is one grocery store in Shui Wan Tou I will not enter anymore. In English it is called Green. The smell from its butcher shop is overwhelming to me, especially since I don't eat meat (don't worry, Myles does and lots of it).
Green is near the Shui Wan Tou bus stop, so Myles wants to go there instead of walking a few extra blocks to A. Best when we get off there.
"No," I tell him. "I don't like the smell there."
"Which smell?" he asks. I normally don't complain about the smells of anything here.
"It smells like blood to me."
He takes a deep whiff as we walk by the store entrance. "It smells like hamburger to me, " he says with a hint of longing in his voice.

Could you possibly be pregnant?
In my experience when smells began to be more acute to me than to other people, that is what it usually meant. I remember that I knew that I was preganant with one of my kids by how the fish vendor's truck smelled to me. That was before I even missed my period.

Susan, how wonderfully optimistic of you. Not at the time of that post.
