Not a fun thought

I realized yesterday that every single function that I perform for the members of this family could be better accomplished by a hired Chinese woman. Every. single. one. For a combined price of less than a few hundred American dollars per month. And I really don't want to point out what is the cheapest service, but it isn't child care.
It's a wonder no one else here has gone all "Room Nineteen."

Oh really? Every single function? Does that include giving hugs and kisses? Does that include loving your family? How much do that pay?

Hugs and kisses? Absolutely. Some of the nannies here are incredibly affectionate.
I don't doubt the priceless value of real family members acting out of love. It is just that it is possible to hire out all of it, at a price level all the foreigners can afford.

My mommy gives the best hugs and kisses in the whole world. Other people may be nice, but it's just not the same.
