Pajama Party

Would you believe we have almost nothing in the way of pictures? Randy swore he was taking pictures, but when we looked on the memory card...nothing. He got some video, but no pictures.
It went very well. Myles has been in and out of homesickness lately, where everything about Pittsburgh is better than here. I asked him a few weeks ago if he wanted to share something we missed with some of his friends here. We talked about it, and decided that we could have a Carnegie Library-style story time, a pajama party story time. We planned the stories and the songs. We read Big Dog Little Dog, Brown Bear Brown Bear, God Bless the Gargoyles, and Good Night Moon. We recited "Humpty Dumpty" with felt characters (THANKS KATIE!!!) and all the kids took turns pulling Humpty off the board for "had a great fall," exactly like we used to do it at the Carnegie Library. And we closed with Laurie Berkner's snuggle song, "Goodnight."
Myles made a CD for his friends to take with them, too. This was a deviation from the library, but I thought his playlist was interesting. It included Norah Jones ("Roly Poly" by her band The Little Wilies), Jack Johnson (some from the Curious George soundtrack), Louis Prima, and, of course, Laurie Berkner.
