How are you doing? I mean, really?
I am okay. Really. Yes, there are still dark clouds and overwhelming sadness, but I haven't descended into a full-on clinical depression.
Do you know what happened?
This week I had my post-delivery appointment. Nothing showed up on the autopsy, the pathology, or genetic reports. While none of this is news that helps us understand this, the fact that genetics did not play a role does come as something of a relief. There won't be pressure for screening with any future babies, or at least none out of the ordinary.
When are you going back to China?
In March, either over the first or second weekend. To my family this seems so soon. As much as I love them and will miss them, getting back there (or rather back with Randy wherever) can't happen soon enough.
How long are you planning on staying?
We're not sure. We will probably have one-year multi-entry visas this time. These visas will allow us more flexibility with our comings-and-goings than the shorter-term visas we had last year. Sometime within a year we will be back in the States for some number of weeks. As a family we really need to experience some boring, settled life for a while. Together.
I think that is it for now. This weekend we are going to my inlaws'. Very limited access to the internet, if at all, and no cell phone service. Yes, I will still be in America.
