Watching what I eat

One thing I keep getting cautioned about from friends and family is to be careful of what I eat in China. I did have one food-related problem when I was there this summer. However, it had nothing to do with food poisong; rather it appeared to be related to my gall bladder being removed earlier this year (Don't make me spell it out for you).
So recent events in the news remind me that here in the Developed West we have absolutely guranteed no problem with our food. And thanks to RubberBoots Girl for that Germany link, though I think she would have rather just read about that problem.
