Myles takes Manhattan (well, just Harlem)

Myles and I took a quick trip up to New York this weekend. I wasn't planning to because I've been feeling so lousy these last weeks. But after Mass on Sunday we packed up the car and drove up.
My friend Collette is on her way to realizing a host of her dreams. On Sunday she opened her own art gallery in Harlem. We went up to be at her opening party and stayed the next day with her. I'll have more up about it once we get home. But a few starters of posts to come......

I think Myles handled his first Harlem/Art Gallery party extremely well. At one point he was in front of the house telling people that everyone was inside looking at the paintings. Twice he was on the roof dancing.

At an art opening in Harlem, only I would strike up a conversation with strangers only to learn that they are a homeschooling family.

In Myles' world, Starbucks really are everywhere. Even 125th and Lenox. Or maybe that is especially.

Maybe I should make Myles respect the titles artists choose for their work. I'm sure it can be an agonizing process. But sometimes, the names he comes up with are so much more interesting.

No, we didn't do any 9/11 things while we were up there. I would have felt like we were crashing someone's funeral.
