Cubs fans in the house
Tonight we are playing hosts to Cubs fans in our house. Crispian's grandparents came to town to watch his last baseball game and then take him to tomorrows Cubs-Pirates game. No tension, really, since it really matters little which team wins in this series. However, every Pirates win for the rest of the season delays the inevitable, the 82nd loss and the 14th consecutive losing season. Yeah, you Cubs fans only think you have it rough.
We got to watch the extra innings this evening, which was certainly, umm, interesting. Between the game that we got to see and the "highlights" of the earlier innings I have to wonder if someone put tennis balls in the mix of the game balls. The last inning was wild, with Dempter walking in the winning run for the Pirates in the 13 inning. Not pretty, but again, it is nice to have just one more day before loss 82.
