Sword play

The other night we decided to introduce the girls next door to sword fighting.
It started with Myles and Crispian chasing each other around the front yard, battling to the death. The eldest daughter, Bella, next door came outside to see what they were playing. Being that Crispian has quite the collection of weapons, he eagerly armed her with her own sword. It was getting close to 8 pm, and her mother let her out for only 15 minutes to play. She sadly but obediently went in to the house at that time. I picked up her sword and continued the fight. Shortly after that, her father came home, laughing up the stairs to his house at us. Moments later she returned for another 15 minutes. Any worries I had that her parents would find our choice in games inappropriate for their girls were completely erased. In fact the next day her mother said to me, as Crispian and Myles distributed swords and capes to Bella and one of her sisters, "Aren't swords awesome?"
Needless to say that despite the fact that this was her first sword fight, Bella did pretty well.
