Reconciliation

This week I received in the mail an announcement from Spring Hill College about the course being offered in Jackson. The college offers an M.T.S. via extension at several sites in the Southeast. When we lived outside of Jackson I attended three semesters. Had we remained in Mississippi I think I probably would have continued. I didn't have a grand plan for what I would do with an M.T.S. if I ever completed. But it was fun while it lasted.
The first course of year is Reconciliation. Wow. It is taught by the same outstanding professor I had for Eucharist. This guy is responsible for turning me (and hopefully every one of his students EVER) onto Alexander Schmemann via the outstanding Eucharist. His reading list for Reconciliation is interesting. In addition to some heavy-hitters, he's included some fiction to the reading list.

File this under things I'd never thought I'd say, but this mailing from Spring Hill almost makes me wish I were back in Mississippi. How fortunate these students and the people in this diocese (as well as the several non-Catholics that participate in this program) to have access to this program, this professor, and this course.
I spend too little time considering this subject. I need to change that.
