Myles' latest journal entries

Myles has not neglected his journal while we've been here. Today we packed up his journal, his crayons, and his markers (apparently some entries warrant one medium, some the other) in his Thomas backpack so he could work on it at Starbucks. It was kind of funny to watch him bend the ears of the Starbucks' employees who asked innocently what he was doing. Of course he had to tell them it was his journal and show them his first entry about Alexander Calder. The Starbucks girls nodded very politely.
So here are some entries from today specifically about China. Here is one about Shekou traffic. The big purple blob in the middle is a specific bus on the 226 route that is, you know, purple. 'Way up in the right-hand corner is another blob that is apparently "Old Shekou," which some people refer to Sui Wen Tou as. I think Myles thinks that the transition between Shekou and Sui Wen Tou is Old Shekou; but I can't be sure. I had never before today heard him say "Old Shekou."


And since it was right before lunchtime when we were in Starbucks, and we were talking about getting lunch, Myles drew a picture of Hunan dinner.

The green is Qing Guo (cucumbers), the peach is Do Fu, and the mustard is Tu Do (potato shredded). I'm not sure why he specifed Hunan, but he did.
