Since I am in China....

LC is taking over my "Rah Rah Pittsburgh" duties (I know she has a post up because she emailed me; still can't read blogspot). I thought it was interesting the one article she links to mentions specifically the Church Brew and their pierogies. The night before Myles and I left to come to China, we went out to dinner with my sisters that live in Pittsburgh, my nephew and my sister Kate's BF. Crispian told his mother that he hoped we went out "for noodles" for our dinner, meaning Thai Cuisine in Bloomfield or Pho Minh in Garfield. Kate told him that since Myles and I were going to China for six weeks, we would probably eat nothing but noodles all that time. What we needed, she said, was Polish food. She needed to be sure I got pierogies. We ate at the Church Brew.
For the record, though, the best pierogies in the city are at the Union Grill in Oakland. They are made fresh daily in the kitchen of an Orthodox church on the South Side.

speaking of Pittsburgh- i'll be sending you really poor quality photos of David Johnson (Channel 11 News) and a woman whose name escapes me- Chris Polaksy (QED TV host) or something like that- LOADING UP on moussaka and pastistio at the Greek Food festival. I actually just have a picture of them in line.
