Only in Shekou, kids. Only in Shekou

Yesterday afternoon I saw what looked from distance some sort of patriotic or spirited gathering of some sort. I saw a red flag waving and a large group of people following. I whipped out my camera to get a picture in case I needed to ask someone later what it was.
That ended up not being necessary, to ask someone what it was. Behind the flag bearer were scores of young girls from a local massage parlor. They were parading up and down Tai Zi Road passing out coupons and fliers. The girls wear white clinical-looking uniforms that are closer to the Halloween "sexy nurse" than aestheticians (and some are a little dingy and have the odd effect of making them look like "sexy butchers"). It really goes without saying, but every single one of them had to stop and talk to Myles. Twice.
I asked Randy later what kind of a place this "spa" was. Was it someplace I could go or someplace a little more, well.....Looking at the price list they gave me was probably all I needed to do

A. Ear cleaning, pedicure, 25 yuan/time
B. Foot massage, 1 hour 35 yuan
C. Body Massage 1 hour 60 yuan
D. VIP fullbody oily Massage 1 hour 120 yuan
E facial: 80 yuan/time

Letter D is not Swedish, Shiatsu or Hot Rock, let me tell you. And I know these kinds of places are everywhere in the world. But how curious that they paraded these girls behind a red flag up and down the street. Normally they just stand on the corners and pass out fliers. But then again, this is Shekou.
