Dragon Boat Festival

Yesterday was a Chinese holiday known as the Dragon Boat Festival. It is a legal holiday in Hong Kong, leaving Randy and his co-workers to grumble about their shipments not leaving port until today. One of them even asked if there was a legal holiday anywhere in the world not celebrated in Hong Kong.
We couldn't go to Hong Kong where there are more activities to commemorate the holiday than here because Myles' and my visas have limits on our entries and exits. Our next exit is the last on this visa. However, we did get to observe a little of the holiday by eating the bamboo-wrapped dumplings for luck. Mine was particularly good because it had red beans and plums in it. If you haven't had these, you unwrap them and they are sticky and sweet. The one pictured here is one that Randy brought from work. I liked the one I ate earlier in the day better. We had bought some on the street when we were shopping with our friend Mickey, and as Randy says, as long as you don't get sick there is nothing better than the food you buy in the street.
