a Myles travelogue

Greetings from Hong Kong!!!! We survived the long trip, one of us much better than the other. One of us arrived at our hotel and immediately threw herself across the cool cool sheets on the bed, praying for a happy death; the other is playing trains on the other bed.
So much to post, hopefully soon, but in the meantime, here's something fun.
When we de-planed in Chicago from our short flight from Pittsburgh, Myles ran off the jetway into the terminal, excitedly.
"Hey everybody! We're in Hong Kong!!!" he yelled as he looked around to see what that might look like.
"No honey," I said. "Remember? We're in Chicago. We just saw Chicago from the airplane and I pointed it out to you." And I further reminded him the course of action for the day, which included this stop in Chicago. In his excitement, he didn't hear me because...
"See mommy! That sign is in Chinese!"
"No, sweetie. That sign is in English!"

When we did finally land in Hong Kong I was afraid he wouldn't wake up from what seemed to be a very deep sleep, something, by the way, I was very thankful for the last three or four hours of the flight. With my two overstuffed carry-ons and his back-pack, I knew that I wouldn't be able to handle his sleeping dead weight. I tried one last time to wake him up.
"Myles, we're in Hong Kong now."
You would have thought I told him it was Christmas. His eyes popped open. He asked for his packpack and took off for the jetway. He couldn't be contained.
"I'M IN HONG KONG!!!!!"
