At Open Book, Amy has posted about a recent interview with Mary Karr where she discusses her conversion to Catholicism. In the interview she drops an f-bomb, and at this point at least one commenter doesn't appreciate her potty mouth. I remember reading somewhere that she credits Tobias Wolff with bringing her into the Church. I really like Tobias Wolff, by the way.
This brings me with my question before I dash out of here for Library and Museum Day (Myles wants me to tell you that there are dinosaurs and Dirty Cookie in the museums). Did I miss the memo that Good Catholic Blogs don't discuss Wolff or Karr or even Dubus (the father)? Is it their language and content? I mean, is Wolff that much more "offensive" than "Come to me king of beasts?" I rarely see them discussed in the Catholic Blogs, and yet when they are interviewed by people like Terry Gross, it is all these authors want to talk about.

Or it could be they share my excuse, which is that I rarely read contemporary fiction writers these days. These writers are just not on my radar screen because of that. I know who Karr and Wolff are, but I've never read their stuff. I'm way out of the loop when it comes to matters literary.
