Muslim protest scheduled in Hong Kong

The South China Morning Post is reporting that community leaders within the Muslim communities in Hong Kong have sought permitting from the local government to conduct a protest against the infamous Danish cartoons (probably can't read that without a subscription). They have said it will be peaceful ("quick to distance themselves from the violence that has featured in similar protests in Indonesia, the Middle East and Europe" is one quote from the article) and take place at lunchtime next Friday. Hong Kong is the home to 70,000 to 80,000 Muslims of various ethnicities. The protest is expected to draw about 3,000.
If it does occur, I wonder if it will remain peaceful, and if it does, will we hear about it (other than my blogging about what the Chinese news says)?
